Week 001– Tuesday Freebie–Seamless Pattern Kit

How are the templates created so far this week?

Well, there are quite a few programs that you can use. The main one of course is Photoshop which is a bit expensive and has a huge learning curve.  I personally like to use Paint Shop Pro which is avaialble through Corel.

There are a lot of videos on YouTube that you can watch to learn exactly how to use seamless tiles for graphic design if you are not quite sure where to start.  I wish my talents were good enough to make tutorials, but they are not. I will leave those to the experts  

Once you have a set of seamless tiles that you want to work with you can create all sorts of products to sell or purchase for gifts.  Here are a few examples:

Week 001–Monday Freebies–Business Card Templates

Today is the day to pick up some full bleed business card templates based on the weekly color palette.
What is full bleed?
The standard dimensions of a printed business card are 3.5 x 2 inches. That's the finished card size. Many printed designs include bleed. The "bleed area" is an extra 1/8 inch of space for design elements or backgrounds that extend beyond the finished size of your piece.
The business cards available today are 4” x 2.5”.  They will fit on most business card design sites. I can’t say all because I certainly haven’t checked them all.
I personally like moo.com because they have the option of choosing multiple business card backs in one set of cards.  They also have quite a few sizes that you can personalize for your business. If you want to delve into something other than business cards they have those options as well.
There is of course the long running discount site Vistaprint that has not only business cards, but other accessory items you can create.
There are also a lot of smaller companies including local companies that would be able to print cards for you.  A quick google search and I am sure you would be able to find a lot of different companies that may be a bit less expensive than the big guys.
